Saturday Feb 21 Depart Miami International on LAN #501 at 20:30 for overnight direct flight to Santiago, Chile    
Sunday, Feb 22  Arrive Santiago 6:55 AM.  Clear Customs & purchase Visitor Visa at airport.  Transfer & check in for 2 nights at Hotel Providencia located near shops & restaurants.  Time for a nap or relax poolside.  At 17:30 City tour of beautiful Santiago’s historic regions, downtown & Cerro San Cristobal mountain lookout.    
Monday Feb 23 Following breakfast, we attend a Canadian Embassy briefing on Agriculture and Chile’s socio-political-economics. Then a visit to El Mandarino farm growing citrus, grapes, etc.  Chilean Lunch (not incl) at Parrilladas Argentinas.  Afternoon visit to quaint town of Pomaire to visit craft and artisan shops.  Return to Santiago.  Fun evening at Dinner/Show los Adobes de Argomedo (www.losadobesdeargomedo.cl )  
Tuesday Feb 24  Following breakfast, transfer to airport to depart LAN #2638 at 9:45 to arrive at town of La Serena at 12:40.   Meet guide & bus for visit to Dole Farm & vegetable processing tour. Continue up canyon bordered by mountains & scenic valleys to town of Vicuna. (See: www.valledeelqui.cl ) Check into unique Hotel Halley for 3 nights.  Explore town, dine locally & relax in evening.    
Wednesday Feb 25 Breakfast at hotel, then visit to Pisco Capel Co-op for tour of processing grapes into Pisco (Chile’s national drink).  “Free samples anyone?”  Lunch (not incl) at Tres R Pisco Restaurant in incredible town of Pisco Elqui.  Tour organic winery Cavas del Valle (See: www.cavasdelvalle.cl ) Return Vicuna for dinner. Then, after dark, we venture to Mamalluca Observatory for breathtaking telescope tour of stars and description of constellations.    
Thursday Feb 26   Following breakfast, we travel by bus with guide for farm visits in the Ovalle valley founded in 1831.  This area is unique in growing grapes on near vertical slopes all irrigated from canals dating back to indigenous times.  Return Hotel Halley in Vicuna for relaxing evening.    
Friday Feb 27  Return to La Serena and depart LAN #301 at 13:25 to arrive Santiago at 14:40.  Visit by bus to almonds & avocado at La Quillayes farm of Susumu Suguira near Hijuelas.  Return Santiago & stay Hotel Providencia.    
Saturday Feb 28  

Bus tour to Cargill Fertilizer plant and export shipping facility at San Antonio. Then, visit to Ventisquero Winery
(See: www.ventisquero.com ) near Rancagua. Check in beautiful Santa Cruz Hotel for 3 nights. 

(See: www.chile-hotels.com/santcruz )  Everybody enjoys this town with central park, shops, etc. nearby.  
   
Sunday March 1 The incredible Museo Colchagua (See: www.museocolchagua.cl ) is adjacent to the hotel.  This is the best collection of Andean history and artifacts in South America.  Enjoy it at your leisure, relax poolside and explore the town during some free time on Sunday. Great places to dine & shops within walking distance.    
Monday March 2 Tour one of Chile’s most popular wineries, ViuManent (See: www.viumanent.cl)  followed by farm visits in LolLol growing chick peas and Santa Cruz growing tomatoes, corn, etc.  Return to Sta Cruz hotel.    
Tuesday March 3 We head back to Santiago with stop en route at Super Cerdo, a very modern hog processing & exporting plant. Lunch (not incl) at El Encuentro restaurant.  Then check in to Hotel Providencia with time for a swim.    
Wednesday March 4

Early morning will blow you away at the bustling Lo Valledor fruit, veg & “everything-else-market”…..like no other! 

(See: www.lovalledor.cl )  Return to hotel for free afternoon & final shopping.
   
Thursday March 5 Depart Santiago on LAN #2638 at 9:45 to arrive Lima, Peru at 11:35.  Then fly LAN #35 departing Lima at 13:25 to arrive Cuzco at 14:40. Meet indigenous guide Rolly Carrasco for narrated bus ride to the incredibly beautiful Inca Sacred Valley town of Pisaq and check into hotel Royal Inka II  (www.royalinkahotel.com/video )    
Friday, March 6 to Sunday, March 8 From our base at Pisaq, we will visit the local Market where indigenous vendors sell produce, crafts and artifacts. We’ll travel daily to sites like Ollantaytambo, site of Peru’s most impressive Inca stonework, the beautiful Vilcamayo Valley beside Urubamba River, archaeological sites like Moray where circular agricultural terraces created micro-climates allowing various crops to be grown, and experience typical Andean villages. A definite highlight will be the domed railcar ride (See: www.perurail.com ) to Aguas Caliente, then climbing by bus to ethereal Machu Picchu ruins for a guided tour and lunch (incl).  Returning evenings to the Royal Inka II Hotel, you can relax in the spa, Olympic size swimming pool & sport facilities.  Sunday night, we return to Cuzco, former capital of the Inca Empire for a city tour, shopping for alpaca woolens and an indigenous Dinner / Show (optional) plus some free time to explore this historical town.    
Monday, March 9

If returning home, you can enjoy Cuzco in the morning, then depart on LAN #38 at 16:30 to arrive Lima at 17:50. Then depart Lima on LAN #514 at 12:20 AM for overnight flight to arrive Miami 7:05 AM (Tuesday) NOTE: This flight time is tentative. Continue from Miami to home.
Or, you can Add-On the optional 6 days in Ecuador / Galapagos:  Depart Cuzco on LAN #24 at 7:45 to arrive Lima at 9:05.  Then depart Lima on LAN #2580 12:50 to arrive Quito 15:05.  Transfer to Hotel San Francisco for check in and guided tour of Quito Antigua, historical buildings, shops and craft stores.  

   
Tuesday March 10 Transfer from Hotel to Quito airport for morning flight on TAME to Baltra airport on Galapagos Island.  Transfer to Hotel Fernandina in the quaint, seaside town of Porto Ayora.  Lunch at Highlands farm and visit with Naturalist guide to giant tortoise’s habitat and explore the lava tunnels on this volcanic island   You may never be this close to Nature again.  
Wednesday March 11 to  Saturday March 14 Some free time to enjoy one of the world’s most beautiful beaches or to shop and explore.  But most days will be filled with boat tours to see seals and blue-footed boobies on North Seymor Island (lunch on board incl), touring the Charles Darwin Research Center, snorkeling among sea lions, trekking to caves, and other Naturalist guided tours.  There are species on Galapagos that exist nowhere else in the world…………don’t miss it! On Saturday, fly from Baltra on Galapagos Islands by TAME to Quito & overnight at Quito hotel    
Sunday, March 15 Depart Quito on LAN #516 at 9:20 to arrive Miami 14:25. Connect for flight home from Miami.
