Aug. 5th |
Arrive
at Dublin Airport in the early morning. We will be met and
transferred to our city centre hotel. Please bear in mind
that as we will arrive during the morning it is unlikely
our rooms will be ready for checking in. Normal check-in
time is around 2.00pm to allow time for the rooms to be prepared
following departure of previous guests. We can of course
drop our luggage at the hotel.
The remainder of the day is free to rest or to explore the
city independently. In the evening enjoy a fun-packed night
of traditional Irish music & dancing with dinner at the
Arlington Hotel in the city centre.

August 6th |
An experienced Irish guide
will meet us at our hotel this morning to conduct a half-day
walking tour around the city centre including visits to Trinity
College& the Book of Kells and Dublin Castle.
In the afternoon you have the option of attending the world
renowned Dublin Horse Show at the RDS or to enjoy free time
for further sightseeing and shopping.
The evening is also free for independent dining.

August 7th |
Depart Dublin after breakfast
heading west into County Kildare, famous as Ireland’s foremost
horse racing region. A 40 minute drive from Dublin will bring
us to the Irish National Stud & Japanese Gardens where
we will be given a guided tour of the stud followed by free
time to take in the Horse Museum and to enjoy the beautiful
gardens.
From Kildare we head south for Kilkenny , a city whose rich
medieval heritage is evident in it’s treasure trove of historical
buildings and landmarks, exemplified by the magnificent Kilkenny
Castle.
Check in to our hotel and enjoy some free time to relax before
dinner in our hotel.

August 8th |
Take it easy this morning
with a late breakfast at our hotel followed by a visit to
the 12th century Kilkenny Castle before lunch. In the afternoon
board our coach for a 50 minute drive to Altamont Gardens,
one of Ireland’s foremost show gardens.

August 9th |
Today and tomorrow will

During our time in Kilkenny the Kilkenny Arts Festival will
be taking place. There will be numerous events including
traditional Irish music, theatre, film and craft to name

August 11th |
Check out of our hotel
and after a farm visit depart for County Tipperary where
we will visit the remarkable Rock of Cashel, a magnificent
collection of ruins set atop a limestone outcrop overlooking
the town. Continue west through County Limerick and on into
County Clare. Check in to our hotel in thevillage of Bunratty.
In the evening attend the renowned Bunratty Medieval Banquet
that is held in the great hall.

August 12th |
This morning visit Rathlahine
Dairy Farm in the nearby town of Newmarket-on-Fergus. Following
a tour of the farm enjoy a light lunch on the farm before
returning to our hotel. In the afternoon take a short stroll
to visit the 15th century Bunratty Castle and Folk Park .
Set on 26 acres the impressive park features over 30 buildings
in a living village and rural setting. Or you can take an
optional trip into Limerick City , Ireland’s third largest
city. It is home to the 800 year old King John’s Castle and
the renowned Hunt Museum. It is less than a 15 minute drive
from Bunratty.
In the evening you can take a short walk from our hotel to
Durty Nelly’s, probably Ireland’s most famous pub. The pub
serves good food and there is always a lively music session
in full swing every night.

August 13th |
From Bunratty travel north
to the county town of Ennis and then head to the west coast
to visit the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. Continue north
along the coast into the unique landscape of The Burren,
an area composed of limestone hills that is home to many
rare flowers . Travel on into County Galway to the market
town of Gort and check in to our hotel.

August 14th |
From Gort head north east
through the Midlands region to visit Strokestown House & Famine
Museum in County Roscommon. From there continue east into
County Meath to check in to our hotel.

August 15th |
Enjoy a free morning and
then in the afternoon visit the megalithic tombs at Newgrange.
The tombs predate the Pyramids of Egypt and are now one ofIreland’s
most visited attractions.

August 16th |
Today is devoted to farm
visits .

Transfer to
Dublin Airport in time to check in for our flight home. |
